Another one bites the dust! It’s been pretty dull in the suicide pool so far, btu we lost another player this week. Rich had CIN to take TB, but they couldn’t do it for him. Better luck next year.

9 out of 11 players in the suicide pool picked New Orleans today. Although the upset is unlikely, that would be massive carnage in the pool if it did happen!

The First Suicide of 2009
For awhile today it looked like we might lose a huge chunk of the class in one fell swoop, as 5 members of the pool took Washington to Beat St. Louis. Washington narrowly held on to win and in the process saved those 5 members the embarrassment of checking out early.
We did get our first loser today though as Tennessee coughed up a furball vs. Houston, leaving Joe to find the emergency exit. That makes it 1 down, 13 to go!

Are you ready for some football??
Here we go again for another season of NFL, Poolaholic style!
We’re back once again with the standard spread pool AND the suicide pool. I’ll be updating the site with all the rules and pricing information soon, but for now you can feel free to register for the pools and start thinking about your picks. There are still a couple of weeks of preseason football to go, and then the big show starts on Thursday, September 10th at 8:30 PM (ET). All picks must be in prior to game time.
I’ve sent out invitations to registor for the pools to all players from last years pools. Please feel free to forward those invites to your friends and family members. I’m not looking to make the pool huge, but a few more prizes to spread around is always a good thing.
Here are the direct links in case you didn’t get the email:
Poolaholic NFL 2009 (Against the Spread)
Poolaholic NFL09Suic (Suicide Pool)
Don’t forget to register for BOTH pools as they are both included in your registration fee. Week 1 Spreads are already available on the site and you can start entering your picks right away!

It was a close one, but it didn’t happen. CAR had a chance to win it with a long field goal at the end, but they muffed the 3rd down play on lost several yards which took them out of field goal range. The hail mary on 4th down was ugly and they turned it over on downs…
