Sage Rosenfels
The Texans gave up a 17 point lead over the Colts with less than 5 minutes to go in the game yesterday. If you saw the game or if you’ve seen the highlight reels you’ll know that Sage Rosenfels got absolutely rocked on successive posessions and then he threw a nasty interception on the third. Indy scored a touchdown following each turnover to create one of their best comebacks ever (and they’ve had some pretty amazing comebacks over the last few years).
But was it really all Rosenfels’ fault? As I said before he got totally rocked by the Indy defense and then he had to have been completely out of his mind and threw a bad pass… To my thinking the whole team (which is 0-4 on the season) has to take this one together. Face it, the Texans suck!
From the Yahoo! Shutdown Corner blog:
For a guy who had a quarterback rating of 83.6 yesterday, Sage Rosenfels is taking quite a beating all around the football world this morning.
I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve it. Savage beatings tend to follow when a man turns the ball over three times in a game’s last three possessions en route to giving up a 17-point fourth quarter lead to a division rival that leaves your team as one of the four without a win on the year. People tend to notice that.
So hammer away. He deserves it, and he knows that. The Texans choked, and Rosenfels will freely admit that he was the guy holding the plastic bag over their faces for the last ten minutes of the game.
You know what, though? I’m not sure he shouldn’t start next week against Miami anyway.
