A crushing victory for New England

The topsy turvy NFL season continued with a huge victory by New England over Denver on Monday night.  Now Denver really hasn’t looked great this year, and they really benefitted from some major officiating screwups in the first couple of weeks, but the Pats haven’t been very good either and so most expected this to be a pretty close game.  No dice though as the Pats put the hurt on the Bronc’s and ran the score up to 34-0 before Denver even got on the board.

Many other wildly unpredictable results have been seen all through the season so far, and many would say that this is just a sign of the parity resulting from the salary cap.  That may be true, but it’s still very different from what we’ve seen over the last few years.  I guess that’s why they have to play every game instead of just letting the wankers in Vegas decide!

The New England victory also sealed the weekly win for Joe in our pool.  He was able to hold off a hard charging Jack who would have taken the week with a Denver win (and a high total score).  The result also allowed Rich to hold onto his lead in the overall.  It wasn’t looking so good for Rich earlier in the weekend when 4 players had moved into a tie for first overall.  Rich maintained his sole posession of first with two tied for second (at one point back) and another two tied for third (at one more point back).  Only two more weeks until the first half winner is decided…  Good luck!
